What is collagen?

Collagen is a natural part of your skin's support structure. As we age and expose ourselves to harmful environmental elements, our collagen levels break down, increasing the appearance of wrinkles. Without enough collagen, wrinkles will appear wherever the face moves.

Collagen Replacement Therapy

Collagen replacement therapy replenishes the skin's collagen layer, smoothing lines, wrinkles and scars.  Collagen can be used too on the face to fill anything from fine lines to deep furrows and facial scars.  It is particularly useful when treating crows feet and vertical lip lines or for treating thinner skins.

Do I Need To Have a Pre-test?

Yes, because the collagen is highly purified beef collagen you will need a test as a very small percentage of the population can be allergic to it.  The test  involves the injection of a tiny amount of collagen into the forearm at least 28 days prior to the treatment.

Which type of filler is right for me?

Most people tend to opt for the hyaluronic acid fillers as they do not require any pre-test. However collagen is prefered by some patients.  The results of both types of dermal filler are excellent.
