  Dermal/Skin Fillers

What are Dermal Fillers/ skin fillers?

They are substances that are injected just below the surface of the skin to add volume and /or structure.  Wrinkles are filled from the inside out giving instant, natural looking results which generally last 6-12 months.  Just watch the years fade away!

Where can the fillers be used?

Fillers are available in three strengths to treat anything from the finest lines to deep lines, folds and facial depressions.  They  can also be used to enhance the lip border or increase their volume, with beautiful, natural looking results! (see our lip enhancement page for further details).

What do the fillers consist of?

Generally there are two main types of dermal filler, Hyaluronic acid and Collagen.  We provide a wide range of fillers of both types.  We stock Restylane,Restylane Lipp, Perlane, Restylane vital, Hydrafill grades 1, 2 and 3, Hydrafill Softline, Hydrafill Softline Max, Juvederm 18, 24 and 30, Teosyal, Teosyal Kiss and Zyderm 1 and 11 and Zyplast!

Our most popular dermal fillers are hyaluronic acid based. They are safe and effective and used worldwide.  They do not require any pre-test.

Hyaluronic acid is a  natural constituent of our skin.  It fills the spaces between our collagen and elastin fibres, attracts water and delivers nutrients to the cells.  It helps to keep our skin supple and looking young.  As we get older our hyaluronic acid diminishes leading to lines and wrinkle formation.

Hyaluronic acid fillers are made to form a clear visco-elastic gel which is injected into the skin to create volume to help restore a more youthful look.

What does the treatment involve?

Prior to treatment a topical anaesthetic cream is applied to the skin to reduce any discomfort.  A series of injections are made to insert the filler into the skin. The results are immediate.  The treatment generally takes between 15-30 minutes.

Are there any side effects?

Immediately after treatment, there might be slight redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness and an itching sensation in the treated area. This is usually only temporary, and will disappear after a few days.
