What is Botox/Vistabel?

Vistabel is the new name for Botox that is specifically licensed for cosmetic purposes.  It is a purified protein that is injected in tiny amounts into specific overactive muscle groups generally in the upper face.  It temporarily blocks nerve impulses to give a rejuvenated and relaxed appearance which lasts between 3-6 months.  Fine lines and wrinkles are dispersed, helping to maintain a youthful appearance. 

It is one of the most popular cosmetic treatments in the world, giving safe and natural looking results.  Over 50 000 vials were used for cosmetic purposes alone in the UK last year.     

What Does The Treatment Involve?

Over active muscles are injected with a very fine needle.  The actual treatment only takes about 15 minutes and will start to take effect over the following 3-7 days.  A follow up appointment is usual after 2 weeks to review the effects of the treatment.

Are There Any Side Effects?

Treatment is very safe and effective.  Occasional swelling and bruising can occur at the injection sites but tends to settle quickly.  A Very rare side effect can involve drooping an eye lid. This can be resolved quickly with the use of special prescription eye drops.  This tends to happen with poor injection techniques.  At MBE our training is of a very high standard.
